Ven. Bartholomew Holzhauser Prophecy – Peter the Roman and the Great Monarch

Ven. Bartholomew Holzhauser Prophecy about Our Times

Including Peter the Roman and the Great Monarch

Venerable Bartholomew Holzhauser wrote  in the 1600’s on various “Ages of the Church”. We live near the end of the Fifth Age of the Church at present, which began at the Protestant revolt in 1517. In Revelation 9:1-5 we read of the key to the bottomless pit being opened and scorpions coming out. The star falling from Heaven is the apostate priest Martin Luther, and the five months is five centuries. Since Luther began in 1517, you will notice that 500 years end in 2017, which just happens to also be the 100th anniversary of Fatima, and also the end of the “75-100 years” that the devil was allowed to attack the Church with more power as seen by Pope Leo XIII in 1884. While may people count the 100 years starting from the time of that vision, the best interpretation is when the first atheistic government ruled a country and spread its errors throughout the world, which was Russia starting in 1917.

“The fifth period is one of affliction, desolation, humiliation, and poverty for the Church. Jesus Christ will purify His people through cruel wars, famines, plagues, epidemics, and other horrible calamities. [Shortly to begin] He will also afflict and weaken the Latin Church with many heresies. [Evident to anyone with open spiritual eyes, but more so once Francis and his Synod approves of sin, particular adultery and sodomy] It is a period of defections, calamities and exterminations. Those Christians who survive the sword, plague and famines, will be few on earth. Nations will fight against nations and will be desolated by internecine dissensions…”

“During this period the Wisdom of God guides the Church in. several ways:
1) by chastising the Church so that riches may not corrupt her completely;
2) by interposing the Council of Trent like a light in the darkness, so that the Christians who see the light may know what to believe,
3) by setting St. Ignatius and his Society [Not literally the Jesuits today – look at Francis for one – but those who truly defend the Church] in opposition to Luther and other heretics;
4) by carrying to remote lands the Faith which has been banned in most of Europe…”

“Are we not to fear during this period that the Mohamedans [Muslims] will come again working out their sinister schemes against the Latin church…” [Islam everywhere, and particularly ISIS]

“During this period, many men will abuse of the freedom of conscience conceded to them [How about many bishops allowing contraception based on your own conscience? Sad example: the entire country of Canada in it’s infamous Winnipeg Statement]. It is of such men that Jude the Apostle spoke when he said, ‘These men blaspheme whatever they do not understand; and they corrupt whatever they know naturally as irrational animals do… They feast together without restraint, feeding themselves, grumbling murmurers, walking according to their lusts; their mouth speaketh proud things, they admire people for the sake of gain; they bring about division, sensual men, having not the spirit.’”

“During this unhappy period, there will be laxity in divine and human precepts. Discipline will suffer. [What happened after Vatican II? Total collapse in discipline. Church is too hard, so move Feast Days to the nearest Sunday since weekday Mass obligation, e.g. the Ascension, is just too much. Not eating meat on Friday is way too hard!] The Holy Canons will be completely disregarded, and the Clergy will not respect the laws of the Church. Everyone will be carried away and led to believe and to do what he fancies, according to the manner of the flesh…”

“They will ridicule Christian simplicity; they will call it folly and nonsense, but they will have the highest regard for advanced knowledge, and for the skill by which the axioms of the law, the precepts of morality, the Holy Canons and religious dogmas are clouded by senseless questions and elaborate arguments. As a result, no principle at all, however holy, authentic, ancient, and certain it may be, will remain free of censure, criticism, false interpretation, modification, and delimitation by man…” [An apt description of modernism, rampant today, and relativism]

“These are evil times, a century full of dangers and calamities.. Heresy is everywhere, and the followers of heresy are in power almost everywhere. Bishops, prelates, and priests say that they are doing their duty, that they are vigilant, and that they live as befits their state in life. In like manner, therefore, they all seek excuses. But God will permit a great evil against His Church: Heretics and tyrants will come suddenly and unexpectedly; they will break into the Church while bishops, prelates and priests are asleep. They will enter Italy and lay Rome waste; they will burn down the churches and destroy everything.…” [Francis has begun that process, and how many have noticed? How many speak up? The literal burning of churches and Rome should begin over the next two years, no later than the 100 year anniversary of Fatima (October 2017)]

“The fifth period of the Church, which began circa 1520, will end with the arrival of the holy Pope [Peter the Roman] and of the powerful Monarch who is called “Help From God” because he will restore everything [in Christ]…” [This is likely to occur in October 2017]

THE SIXTH PERIOD of the church the (status consolationis)—time of “CONSOLATION” begins with the HOLY POPE and the POWERFUL EMPEROR , and terminates with the birth [not literal but symbolic meaning the rule over the whole earth] of Anti-christ. (Revelations, 3: 7, 10.)

“This will be an age of solace, wherein God will console His church after the many mortifications and afflictions she had endured in the fifth period. For all nations will be brought to the unity of the true Catholic faith. [right after the Warning where billions will convert]

“A type of this period was the sixth age of the old world, from the deliverance of the Israelites out of the Babylonian captivity, and the rebuilding of the city and of the temple of Jerusalem, down to the coming of Christ. As God gladdened His people by the rebuilding of the temple and of the holy city; as all kingdoms and nations were subjected to the Roman empire; and Caesar August, the most powerful and excellent monarch, after vanquishing all his enemies, gave for fifty-six years, peace to the world; so will God pour out upon His church, that witnessed in the fifth period nought be affliction, the most abundant consolations. But this happy age will be ushered in under the following circumstances. When all is desolated with war; when the church and the priests must pay taxes; when Catholics are oppressed by heretics, and their faithless fellow-religionists; when monarchs are murdered; subjects oppressed; when riches are extirpated; when every thing concurs to bring about the establishment of Republics; then will the hand of the Almighty produce a marvelous change, according to human notions seemingly impossible. For that STRONG MONARCH, (whose name is to be “the help of God,”) [John? is a masculine proper name, cir. 1160, from Medieval Latin, Johannes, from Late Latin, Joannes, from Greek, Ioannes, from Hebrew, Yohanan (in full y’hohanan) literally, “Jehovah has favored,” from hanan “he was gracious.” Other prophets have given the name of the “GREAT MONARCH as “Henry.” Henry is from French, Henri, from Late Latin, Henricus, from German, Heinrich, from Old High German, Heimerich, literally, “the ruler of the house,” from heim “home” + rihhi “ruler.”] will as the envoy of the Almighty, root up these Republics. He will subject all things to himself, and will zealously assist the true Church of Christ. All heresies will be banished into hell; the Turkish empire [Islam] will be overthrown to its foundations, and his dominion will extend from east to west. All nations will come, and will worship the Lord in the one true Catholic Faith. Many righteous men will (Beykirch, p. 140) flourish, and many learned men will arise. Men will love justice and righteousness, and peace will dwell on the whole earth. For the Omnipotent will bind Satan for many years, until the advent of him who is to come, the son of perdition.

“In respect to perfection, this period corresponds to the sixth day of creation, on which God created man after His own image, and subjected to him, as lord of creation, all creatures of the earth. So will man be now a true image of God, (in righteousness and holiness), and the STRONG MONARCH will rule over all nations.

“The sixth gift of the SPIRIT, THE FEAR OF THE LORD, will in this period be poured out upon the church; for men will fear the Lord their God, keep His commandments, and serve him with their whole heart. The scriptures will be understood after one uniform fashion, without contradiction and error, so that all will marvel they had so long misunderstood the clear sense of holy writ. The sciences will be multiplied and completed, and men will receive extraordinary illumination in natural, as well as divine knowledge.” (Beykirch, p. 27 – 29).

Ven. Holzhauser also had various commentary on the Apocalypse. Some excerpts:

Revelations (Apocalypse) 10: 1-7 “And I saw, another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud; and a rainbow was on his head, and his face was as the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire. And he had in his hand a little book open; and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot upon the earth; and he cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roars… And the angel whom I saw standing upon the sea and upon the earth, lifted up his hand, and swore by Him who created all things, that time shall be no longer; but that the mystery of God shall be finished, as He hath declared by His servants the prophets.”

[Ven. Holzhauser] “This is the lofty description of that MIGHTY MONARCH sent by God. He is a mighty angel, for no one can resist him, the envoy of God. He will come down from heaven; that is to say, he will be born in the bosom of the Catholic Church. The cloud with which he is clothed signifies humility, with which, from youth upward, and without any great parade, he walks in the simplicity of his heart. The protection of God is also thereby indicated, that, on account of his humility, will encompass him. The rainbow about his head denotes, that he will bring peace to the whole earth. The solar luster of his brow signifies the splendor of his glory, his honor, his holiness, his talents, so that all princes will follow (Beykirch, p. 141) his example. The fiery pillars symbolize the vast extent of his power, and the fire of his religious zeal…

“The spread of the church over all countries will take place by the instrumentality of this STRONG MONARCH, and before the destruction of the world, Christianity will be preached to all nations of the earth; as this is foretold in Matthew 24: 4 [through the Warning]; in Isaiah 2: 2; and in Micheas (Micah) 4: 2. To this wide diffusion of Christianity allusion is made, when John is obliged to measure the temple of God. (Apocalypse 11: 1).

“And John saw one sitting upon a cloud, a son of man, with a golden crown upon his head, and a sharp sickle in his hand. (Apocalypse 14: 14)

[Ven. Holzhauser] This is the second vision respecting the MIGHTY MONARCH; the crown is that of the holy Roman empire; the sickle in his hand, his unconquerable army, with which, without sustaining a defeat, he will vanquish all the enemies of God and His Church.

“And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat upon the cloud, ‘Thrust in thy sickle, and reap, because the hour is come to reap, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.’ (Apocalypse 14: 15).

[Ven. Holzhauser] “This angel of the Lord is that GREAT AND HOLY POPE [Peter the Roman], who, moved by God, will cry out of the sanctuary of the church to that MIGHTY MONARCH, to root out the tares of wickedness, for the harvest is over-ripe; the measure of sins and abominations is overflowing. Instructed by a divine revelation, the HOLY POPE will, by communicating the same, stir up the hearts of princes to a common war; and God will touch the hearts of the soldiers, that, animated with one spirit, they all will adhere to the MIGHTY MONARCH.” (Beykirch, pp. 30 – 32).
