I have come to explain the difference between being childlike and childish

October 1, 2014

St. Therese of the Child Jesus says: “Praise be to Jesus.”

“I have come as Jesus commands to explain the difference between being childlike and childish. The soul who is childlike reflects simplicity and humility of heart. Such a one is very eager to please others. He trustingly takes on any task as a loving child would do to please his parents. He has no hidden or self-centered agenda.”

“The soul who is childish, on the other hand, is self-centered, regarding everything as it affects himself. His focus is on pleasing himself and, in this regard, he becomes very manipulative.”

“The childlike soul is a ready and willing instrument in the hands of God. He is always willing to please. The childish soul weighs all his responses, words and actions on the scale of cost to self.”

“These are very important points in the process of conversion of heart.”

Read 1 John 3:1,18

See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know Him…Little children, let us not love in word or speech but in deed and in Truth.
