St. Francis de Sales says: “Praise be to Jesus.”
“I tell you, it is the responsibility of all leaders, secular and religious, to lead according to the Truth. Upon this maxim, their souls will be judged. If they lead souls astray through factious slander or calumnies, and as a consequence, mislead others as to the Truth, they are answerable to the Just Judge, Jesus Christ.”
“He who does not gather with Jesus, scatters. He who does not speak up for the Truth supports untruth. If you hold influence over souls, listen.”
Read Ephesians 4:25, 29-32 (Sins of the tongue – and their fruits – to be avoided)
Therefore, putting away falsehood, let every one speak the Truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another. …Let no evil talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for edifying, as fits the occasion, that it may impart grace to those who hear. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, with all malice, and be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
