Feast of St. Nicholas
St. Nicholas comes. He says, “Praise be to Jesus. Are you surprised to see me?”
I [Maureen] answer, “Yes.”
He smiles.
“In my lifetime, I was full of surprises. I had a generous spirit. That is what is missing in the heart of the world today. Selfishness gravely wounds the Mournful Heart of Jesus. A generous spirit would never compromise the Truth or abuse authority. A generous spirit desires only the best for his neighbor, which is Truth and well-being.”
“During this season of giving, give with a generous spirit to all you meet. Give the Truth.” *
* This is what constitutes a genuine Christmas spirit.
Read 1 Corinthians 5:8 **
Synopsis: Live generously in the spirit of sincerity and Truth, not malice or wickedness.
Let us, therefore, celebrate the festival, not with the old leaven, the leaven of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
** Scripture verses asked to be read by St. Nicholas.
